Family Photo

Today we had a family photo session with my friend, Meghann Ayers, at http://meghannayersphotography.com/. She was able to get some good shots, but apparently I under estimated how difficult it is to get two toddlers and two adults to all look good in one picture. Add to that, one cold and four, two-year molars and it becomes close to impossible. I will post her pictures as soon as I order them! There are definitely some cute ones!! Once our session was over, we used the opportunity to take more pictures and get some practice with our Canon.
I love this picture of Jim and Macie...

Poor Davis did not want any part of the camera action.

I love pictures of these two holding hands. :)

Happy Days

Today was an A+ day. For serious, people.

We ordered plantation shutters for our house in January. They take about eight weeks. We were super excited! The guy called me on Tuesday and said he could install them the next day. I didn't tell Jim because I wanted him to be surprised when he came home from work. SO, I did my part and kept the kids out of the house during the installation process....not an easy feat with two small kids around lunch time/nap time, but we made it work. Actually, the kids were really good all day.

This is not the best picture. It was taken in our guest room and with my phone....

Jim was pleasantly surprised - the shutters look awesome! AND he had a surprsie for me too. He had Ashley coming over at 6pm so that we could go out. Where, you ask? To the Stevie Nicks/Rod Steward concert!!! I was SO excited. I really wanted to see them. BAD. I think Jim get's husband of the year for that one!! Oh, happy days, how did I ever get so lucky?!?

Shoes

Attention all momma's, Stride Right is having a sale! Buy one, get one 50% off. This is a good deal if you are in the market for babe shoes, which I am. Davis needed some Crocs because he currently owns a lot of sneakers and, well, parks are sandy (even when they have mulch, still sandy). I love Crocs becauase I can stick them in the washer when they are dirty and...WALAA...like new.

Do I really need an excuse for cute girl shoes? Ok, ok...Macie is starting to bust out of her 9 1/2's. This time I don't really need an excuse, she is going to need shoes for school. And soon.

Stride Right is not cheap, so if you need shoes, now is the time to get them. This sale includes their clearnance items as well.

I bought these Crocs for my boy. Cute, huh?

Macie has to wear socks and shoes to school so I always buy her these Keds. They go with just about anything .... play clothes, cute dresses...and they are leather and easy to keep clean. SO, cute, white and leather. All good things for a little girl.
I scored both pairs of shoes for right around $50. Macie's last pair of Keds lasted 7 months. I really hope these last just as long. Davis? ... well, he is a growing boy.

Davis, my sweet little monster...

That's right...sweet...little monster. He is super cute and he has learned the two dreadful words: NO! ... and ...MINE! He uses them often people. Way too often.

Shall I continue? He is cutting 2-year-molars. It's no fun. He wakes up at night, he drools all day, he won't eat and he is a fantastic little fussellbutt. If he doesn't not have a lovey in his hand, the world will come crashing down upon us. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to let big huge teeth cut through your gums at the age of two years old is FIRED. My poor little Braboo!!

But I sure do love him! :)

I pink puffy heart love Craigslist...

The most recent project on my home-decor-to-do list was my foyer. It's still a work in progess but it's almost done and I am very excited. I wanted a long table or buffet for the long entryway wall in our house. I was patient and eventually came across an awesome peice. I found a six-foot, solid wood, Thomasville buffet for $20. Yes, you read that correctly. $20. It took two strong guys, a truck, some bungee cords and rope to get it home...but TWENTY BUCKS!!!! Special thanks to my wonderful hubs for putting up with my random Craigslist purchases and agreeing to hauling them home for me. :)

Here she is before...

This re-do was actually easy despite the crazy detail. Here she is...all pretty in our foyer. The total cost was just under $75. I still need to work on the other walls in the entry and buy a piece of glass for the top of the table to prevent scratches. Do you love her like I do?? I painted her London Grey. The color looks different all day depending on the light but it came out really well.

PS. Please excuse my phone pics. It is quick and easy, but maybe not the best quality. ;)

Ok, I am off to find some more projects!!

Spring Fling!

We really love Macie's preschool. It is awesome. They had a "Spring Fling" this past weekend so I took the kids and they had a blast!! It was full of fun kids stuff including pony rides, face painting, bounce houses, games, etc. and all of the money was a benefit for the school.

We started off with a pony ride. Both kids LOVED this. Looking back, Davis should have been on the horse behind Macie...because he kept turning around and saying, "hi sissy" and I was worried he was going to fall off. Crazy boy. :)

Moo specifically picked this pony for her ride...

Next we played some games and then headed over for some face painting fun. Davis was hammin' it up and playing "peek-a-boo" around the stroller with me while Moo was getting painted...

Here is my sweet little butterfly...

Davis got a little baseball. Hey, Dad, are you proud? It was super funny because he kept looking out the side of his eye to see what was going on with his cheek. Macie and I were cracking up!!

We are working on some molars here. So, not only are we a pile of drool, but we are Braboo T. Fussellbutt with a blistered finger from some serious thumb sucking (he sucks for dear life when he doesn't feel well or when he is teething).

Holy cuteness!!! I could kiss these two to death!!!

Mixed emotions

So, I am retiring. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I will be staying at home with my babes. Up until this point, I have worked part-time keeping my hours on Tuesdays and Thurdays. I wish I could say that I was jumping up and down for joy but...I have really mixed emotions.

Of course, I am thrilled to be able to spend the time with my kids. It is the most important job. I am grateful and I know I am lucky. I know that a lot of women (including some very good friends of mine) would love this opportunity. However, I have been with my company for nine years (this month). It's a small company and they are like family to me. We've been together since I was 24 years old....that's a marriage and two pregnancies!! This has been a really tough decision for me, and I am sad. So sad.

I am also sad because I love Ashley. She has been so wonderful to my babies and she has been so helpful for our family. We have no family in Tampa so I really depend on her help.

So, the glass is half full, but it is half full because I have cried all of my tears into it. :)
